They have opportunities to try new things and to take appropriate risks. Group living at camp provides the possibility for practicing communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
The outcomes help families to better understand the special needs of their child and how to advocate for him or her. They learn about community resources and how to access support for their children and themselves.
Communities grow stronger as parents, teachers, youth workers, and child care providers develop the skills that increase their effectiveness with youth.
