If you treat children as individuals and honor their strengths, they will be more socially, emotionally, and academically successful.

The Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center is designed to serve early childhood learners. Our goal is to nurture typically developing preschoolers and children who have speech and language delays, hearing impairments, and mild orthopedic challenges by using a team approach to mastery (TAM).

A Diverse Community of Young Learners

Bringing together 3- and 4-year-olds to learn and play, the Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center (CDC) at Children’s Beach House prepares early childhood learners for success in kindergarten and beyond. The center provides preschool and support services to children who are typically developing, as well as those with speech and language delays, hearing impairments, and/or mild orthopedic challenges. Together they form a diverse community of learners that learn from and support one another.

Individualized instruction & support

The Rollins Center’s team of skilled and caring educators has created an integrated approach to education in which children master skills that prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond. Thanks to its small classroom size and 1:5 adult-to-child ratio the Rollins Center is able to offer individualized instruction to meet the needs of each student. For children requiring speech, occupational or physical therapy support, services provided by state or private agencies can be arranged and integrated into the child’s preschool day.

Top-rated childcare

The Rollins Center has the highest rating from the Delaware Stars program. The center is licensed through the State of Delaware’s Office of Child Care Licensing and strives to meet all standards set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Extraordinary indoor and outdoor classrooms

Located in CBH’s beautiful facility in Lewes, DE, the classrooms of the Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center look out over sand dunes and the Delaware Bay. Play and learning extend beyond the indoor classrooms and onto the property’s beachfront, dunes, playground, and gardens.
