A Note from the Executive Director

Dear first name,
Spring at Children's Beach House can feel like a whirlwind: Our preschoolers are practicing their dance moves for graduation. Our camp program is gearing up for eight incredible weeks of growth and friendship. And our gardens are coming alive thanks to the green thumbs of our oldest campers, Chef Paula, and our dedicated facilities staff and volunteers.
Transitions can be exciting, but they can also be scary, especially for those who haven't seen it done by someone like them. It's true for the first-generation college student preparing to do what no one in her family has done. It's true for the rising kindergartener contemplating a bus ride with 60 strangers toward a brand new school. And it's true for adults, too: first-time parents, career-changers, fresh retirees — all of us face opportunities that can feel intimidating.

What makes the difference between leaning into opportunity and collapsing in the face of fear? Often it's the presence — or absence — of a supportive community around the person facing change. When children know from experience that there are people to guide them, encourage them, and help them back up when they fall, they are far more likely to take the healthy risk of stepping into the unknown.
Your support lets kids know it is safe to push themselves to achieve things they once thought impossible. When you stand with Children's Beach House, you encourage a child to believe in their own capacity for growth. And that growth is never just one child's: It ripples outward, into families, into communities, into a society moving forward together.
For the kids,

Afterschool Participants Reap Rewards
|
When CBH began our afterschool programs at Milton Elementary and H.O. Brittingham Elementary a little over a year ago, our aim was to offer students academic and social-emotional support in a safe environment surrounded by positive peers and adults.
The results of our first year are heartwarming: Children from all over Milton are finding their voices and their confidence. Parents are reporting their child's joy at the end of the day. Teachers are seeing boosts in grades and classroom engagement. At a recent awards assembly, many of our afterschool participants were honored for both academic achievements and character development. It's gratifying to see the pride on their faces!
Enrollment for next school year will open in August! With CBH scholarships and Purchase of Care state subidies, many families pay as little as $0!
