Sue McJunkin Named CBH Volunteer of the Year
Children’s Beach House welcomed its volunteers for the 2026 appreciation dinner held May 27, to share an evening of celebration and gratitude for the time, talent and energy they contribute in countless ways.
The event recognized the many friends of Children’s Beach House who help the organization serve underresourced children with communicative disabilities through its statewide Youth Development Program and its Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center in Lewes.
“Our volunteers bring heart, dedication and a spirit of service to everything we do at Children’s Beach House,” said Rich Garrett, executive director. “Whether you are mentoring children, supporting events, lending your professional expertise or helping behind the scenes, your generosity creates a powerful impact for our programs and the families we serve.”
Following Garrett’s remarks, Sue McJunkin of Millsboro was recognized as CBH Volunteer of the Year. Over the past two years, McJunkin has volunteered with almost every fundraising event committee, serving as a sponsor and especially as chair of auction committees. Her creativity, leadership and steady support have helped strengthen Children’s Beach House fundraising efforts and advance its mission.
